Welcome to Rio Nexpa, Barra de Nexpa, Michoacan, Mexico
Coming to Nexpa? Looking for a roomy and quiet place to stay within steps of the surfing point with all the comforts of home? Our vacation home rental is a comfortable 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom house with 3 lofts under a soaring palapa roof for breezy coolness. There is plenty of space in our flow-through living and dining area to just chill out.
The House and Gardens
RNR has a big, fully functional kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, blender, plates, cups, glasses, flatware, cookware, pots and pans, all available to all of our guests. Once-weekly maid/housekeeping service is provided.
The living area is equipped with comfortable seating and tropical accents, a large dining table and chairs, and it includes a good library with lots of books, surf mags, info brochures, and other reading material as well as a stereo with CDs. We have backgammon, chess, cribbage, and checkers as well as cards and other games to enjoy in your free time. RNR is completely screened in, so there’s no need to bring your mosquito net.
The whole house features earthy tones and quaint accents in natural local materials: beach pebbles, sea shells, river rock, bamboo, driftwood, woven reeds and grasses, and carved tropical hardwoods.
Our back yard, which borders the Nexpa river, is fully landscaped and green with hammocks in the shade where you can kick back and watch the sun rise, moon rise, birds, and the abundance of river life flow by.
Our BBQ/Bar area has a big BBQ pit, two burner stove, sink, coffee maker, fridge and stove for a great cook out/party area. On the river’s edge just a few steps away, we have a kayak for river exploring, bird watching, or fishing. River fishing is strictly catch and release. Beach fishing is good depending on the time of year, and offshore fishing trips are available when weather conditions permit.
RNR is located about 100 steps back from the beach and surfing point, and it’s right on the river front, so it’s peaceful and quiet. The back bedroom opens onto a small patio, and the back porch of the house is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee while watching the water birds and other wildlife on the river.
There is covered parking out front for your car, and in our front yard are board racks, cloths line, and an outside foot wash/shower for when you come home from the beach.
The Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Our four bedrooms on the main floor are large and private for your comfort, with big screened windows, fans, clean sheets, and towels. Two of the bedrooms have two full (double) beds each downstairs and two singles in each loft above; one bedroom has one full and one single downstairs with a single in the loft above; and one of the bedrooms has just one full bed downstairs (no loft). All of our rooms are completely secure and lockable. The house optimally sleeps eight but can comfortably accommodate up to twelve guests.
The bedrooms share three roomy, full bathrooms decorated with hand-painted Mexican mosaic tiles, each with its own hot water shower, sink, and toilet. Towels, hand towels, and wash cloths are provided.
